Vintage Rajasthan Tour

Day 1 Delhi

On arrival in Delhi you will be taken to The Claridges for a two night stay. That evening, enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional setting.

Day 2 Delhi

Your morning tour of Old Delhi includes Jama Masjid one of the largest mosques in India, Raj Ghat – a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, and the bazaars of Chandni Chowk. After lunch, explore New Delhi, including the architecturally fascinating Lutyens buildings and the iconic India Gate, Qutub Minar minaret and Humayun’s Tomb, the first garden tomb in India.

Day 3 Delhi – Ranthambore National Park

Drive to Ranthambore National Park in the morning and stay for two nights at Khem Villas, a boutique jungle lodge. Enjoy a game drive through the park in the afternoon. One of the largest parks in India, Ranthambore is home to Royal Bengal Tigers as well as leopards, wild boar, hyena, sloth bears and a variety of deer, along with a variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles.

Day 4 Ranthambore National Park

Enjoy another day of jungle activities including morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 5 Ranthambore – Bundi

This morning drive to Bundi, a sleepy hamlet with a medieval charm. Stay overnight at Bundi Vilas, a heritage homestay. In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Bundi Palace, notable for its lavish traditional murals and frescoes and visit the Chitra Shala (picture gallery) which has some outstanding paintings depicting the life of Lord Krishna.

Day 6 Bundi – Delwara

Drive to Delwara this morning, with an optional stop en route to see Chittorgarh, the largest fort complex in Rajasthan. Stay for two nights at Raas Devigarh, a boutique heritage hotel.

Day 7 Delwara

Day at leisure to explore the grounds of your resort or indulge in the resort’s renowned spa. A sightseeing trip of Udaipur can be arranged.

Day 8 Delwara – Khandi

The scenic drive this morning takes you to Khandi, a delightful village on the outskirts of Jodhpur. On the way, you can take a short detour to see the intricately carved Jain temple complex at Ranakpur or the rugged Kumbhalgarh Fort. The fort wall is the second longest wall in the world, after the Great Wall of China. On arrival in Khandi, you will stay for two nights at Mihir Garh – a charming fort-style resort of the local Royal family.

Day 9 Khandi

Rise early this morning for a safari into the nearby villages. The local Bishnois tribes are ecologists and are largely responsible for the preservation of blackbuck, a type of endangered antelope that can be spotted quite easily in this area. You will also visit a home of the Raikas (shepherds) for a close look at local customs and to experience their warm hospitality. The afternoon is at your leisure with an option to visit Jodhpur or take a horse ride through the countryside.

Day 10 Khandi – Manvar

Today, we will drive to Manvar, a laidback village in the Thar Desert. After that, you will be transferred by jeep to Manvar Tented Camp where you will stay for two nights. Enjoy an evening jeep safari through the villages to explore local life and enjoy a barbeque dinner by the bonfire.

Day 11 Manvar

A full day of exploring the Thar Desert with a camel ride or jeep safari through local villages and settlements to explore this vast desert landscape dotted with ancient Jain temples.

Day 12 Manvar – Nagaur

The morning drive takes you to Nagaur, famous for its annual Sufi Music Festival. Your overnight stay is at Ranvas, a boutique hotel set in a medieval Ahhichatragarh Fort.

 

After lunch there is plenty of time to explore the fort which reflects a mix of Rajput & Mughal architecture. You can also leisurely explore the many temples, palaces with gateways, fountains and courtyards of the nearby town either on foot or by tuk tuk. Then at sunset we suggest heading to the ramparts for a sundowner. Other activity options include taking a camel and cart ride on the nearby sand dunes or visiting a local red chilli farm.

Day 13 Nagaur – Samode

This morning’s drive takes you to Samode, a quaint village on the outskirt of Jaipur. Here you will stay for two nights at the Samode Palace, a magnificent palace in the middle of Aravalli Hills.

Day 14 Samode

Today is at leisure to enjoy the beautiful setting and facilities of your palace hotel which includes a spa and a swimming pool or explore the local village. Activities include taking a camel and cart ride through the village. Alternately you can go for a leopard safari in Jhalana Safari Park or visit Jaipur city.

Day 15 Samode – Delhi

After a leisurely morning, you will be taken to Delhi for an overnight stay in Pride Plaza Aerocity.
