Day 1

Delhi

On arrival in Delhi you will be taken to The Claridges for a two night stay. This evening a welcome dinner is arranged in a traditional setting. Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2

 Delhi

Your morning tour of Old Delhi includes Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat – a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, and a rickshaw ride around the bazaars of Chandni Chowk. After lunch explore New Delhi, including the architecturally fascinating Lutyens buildings and the iconic India Gate, Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 3

Delhi – Mandawa

This morning the tour takes you to Mandawa for an overnight stay at Vivaana Culture Haveli, a tastefully restored mansion. An important stop on the trade route between China and the Middle East, Mandawa was a prosperous town where rich merchants built beautiful mansions to show off their wealth. In the afternoon explore the grand havelis (mansions), with their colourful murals and wall paintings. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 4

Mandawa – Bikaner

Today the adventure continues to the fortified city of Bikaner and the Narendra Bhawan, a beautiful royal palace. Your afternoon tour includes the Junagarh Fort and its museum followed by the nearby camel breeding farm.

Day 5

Bikaner – Jaisalmer

After breakfast we head south west into the Thar Desert and the medieval town of Jaisalmer for a two night stay at Suryagarh. Meals Included: Breakfast

 

 

Day 6

Jaisalmer

This morning’s sightseeing begins at Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Golden Fort due to its distinctive golden hued stones. Situated on top of Trikuta Hills, the Fort offers amazing views of the desert. Your tour continues with visits to the intricately carved havelis, Jain temples and the sacred Gadisar tank. Then at sunset experience a spectacular camel ride across the dunes. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 7

Jaisalmer – Rohet (Jodhpur)

Today we drive to the village of Rohet, near Jodhpur for an overnight stay at Rohetgarh, a heritage palace hotel. The afternoon sightseeing of Jodhpur includes the Jaswant Thada and the imposing Meherangarh Fort. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 8

 Rohet – Udaipur

The first stop this morning is Ranakpur, to see the intricately carved Jain Temple complex. After lunch in the pleasant surroundings of Maharani Bagh orchards, the scenic drive continues on to the romantic city of Udaipur. Stay for the next two nights at Trident Hotel*, close to Lake Pichola. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 9

Udaipur

Your morning city sightseeing includes the City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion-ki-Bari, a garden built for the Maids of Honour. In the afternoon enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Pichola for magnificent views of stately buildings against the backdrop of Aravalli Range. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 10

Udaipur – Barli

Today the tours continues to Bijaipur, a charming Rajasthani village for two nights at Fort Barli – a delightful fort palace hotel. The afternoon is free to explore this 16th century fort and its beautiful surroundings. Accommodation: Fort Barli, Barli

Day 11

Barli

You have a full day of leisure to explore the colourful village and its markets. A bullock car ride through the village or n early morning birding tour are also available. Accommodation: Fort Barli, Barli Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 12

 Barli – Jaipur

After breakfast we leave Barli for Jaipur and two nights at the splendid Samode Haveli, the city residence of the Samode royal family. The afternoon is free to explore this vibrant ‘Pink City’. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 13

Jaipur

Today’s city tour starts at Hawa Mahal, the ‘Palace of Winds’, before visiting the magnificent hilltop Amer (Amber) Fort. Here you can explore the Fort’s extensive apartments decorated with murals and mosaics. After lunch the tour continues with the Jantar Mantar observatory, the City Palace and Museum. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 14

Jaipur – Agra

Our next destination is Bharatpur and a visit to the famous bird sanctuary. After lunch in a manor house we continue to Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted capital of Emperor Akbar, and then onto Agra.. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 15

Agra – Delhi

A highlight of today’s tour is a visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise. This is followed by breakfast at the hotel and a visit to the iconic 16th century sandstone Agra Fort.  In the afternoon we drive to Delhi for an overnight stay at Pride Plaza Aerocity. Meals Included: Breakfast

 

Day 16

Delhi Airport

You will be transferred to the airport for your return or onward flight. Meals Included: Breakfast.
